While she initially has no knowledge of her role in the many tragedies in the early story, upon the revelation of her unwilling involvement she becomes horrified and desires to make amends for her past transgressions. Despite not recognizing Alear, she grows fond of them quickly, feeling an unconscious connection to them even prior to their revelation of their blood ties. Like many of her siblings, Sombron views the true Veyle as a defect due to her kindhearted, gentle nature, but still uses her as a pawn for his schemes. She is manipulative and cruel, even finding delight in her other persona's emotional pain. She is fanatically devoted to her father and will stop at nothing to destroy his enemies. While under Zephia and Sombron's influence, Veyle is arrogant, sadistic, and cruel. Her "red eyes" personality, however, seems to have limited memories of her true personality's actions. Due to her separated personality, the normal Veyle is typically unaware of her other form's actions as she blacks out whenever the switch occurs. Her normal personality, indicated by purple eyes, retains her kindhearted nature while her split personality, indicated by red eyes, is much more sadistic and cruel. Veyle has a split personality due to a spell placed by Zephia that forces out her draconic instincts. With her sibling fully back, Veyle resolves herself to continue fighting by Alear's side to stop their father. Though her power only temporarily keeps them tethered to the physical world, the Emblems take over and bestow her sibling with a miracle blessing, thus turning them into an Emblem. Veyle's ritual is a success and Alear is revived. Alear declares that they will not give up and asks Veyle to use her Fell Dragon powers to revive them as a Corrupted so they can try and save the world one more time. Having lost all hope with their death, Veyle gives up and pleads to Alear to remain with her in the astral plane. In an astral plane, the spirit of Veyle reunites with the spirit of Alear. When they died in her arms, Veyle realizes that Alear was the very sibling she had been searching for the entire time. Sombron appears and, having deemed her defective, launches a powerful breath attack at her, forcing Alear to intercept the attack, but is mortally wounded. In the ensuing battle, Alear and their forces are able to defeat Veyle and Marni's attack earlier had cracked the crown, allowing them the ability to damage it enough to give the normal Veyle back control. Horrified by the lengths they would go to control her, Marni attempts to break the helmet, but Veyle is protected by a barrier and Marni is subsequently killed by Zephia for her attempted betrayal. To bind her loyalty to Sombron, Veyle is fitted with an enchanted helmet that amplifies Zephia's mind control spell on her, eventually completely suppressing her original personality so long as the crown is worn. A sect of Fell Dragon worshipers found her and hid her away in a hidden temple where she slept for centuries. Left alone, Veyle remained in hiding due to the potential scorn she would receive as his child. Sombron would later be sealed away by the Divine Dragons shortly after. Veyle was primarily raised by her mother, a Mage Dragon, though she eventually passed away. Despite rumors that Alear had perished, Veyle was unconvinced as the dragonstone remained intact, a sign that they were still alive. They gifted Veyle their dragonstone before heading out again in Sombron's service. The sibling who managed to avoid this fate the longest was Alear whom she met a single time. Almost all of her siblings perished during the war, most of which were killed personally by Sombron himself for being defects or failing in his plans. For most of her childhood, she had little contact with her numerous siblings if any, all of whom were waging war across Elyos in Sombron's name.
